Travel Box' s Advanced Open Water Diver course (PADI) is designed to further enhance your scuba diving skills and expand your knowledge in different areas of diving. It is a popular course for certified Open Water Divers who want to gain more experience and confidence underwater. Here's some information about the Advanced Open Water Diver course (AOW):
Prerequisites:
Minimum age of 15 years old (or 10 years old for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
Certification as a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification from another recognized diving organization)
Course Structure:
Knowledge Development: You'll complete five knowledge development sections, either through self-study using the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual or through e-learning. The topics cover various aspects of diving, such as deep diving, navigation, night diving, underwater naturalist, and more
Open Water Dives: The course requires a total of five open water dives, each focusing on a specific specialty area. Two core dives are mandatory: Deep Dive (usually between 18-30 meters/60-100 feet) and Underwater Navigation Dive. The remaining three dives can be chosen from a list of elective specialty dives, such as night diving, wreck diving, peak performance buoyancy, search and recovery, and others. The elective dives can be tailored to your interests and local diving conditions.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the knowledge development sections and the five open water dives, you'll be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. This certification allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters/100 feet (or 21 meters/70 feet for Junior Advanced Open Water Divers) and provides you with more opportunities to explore different diving environments and gain experience.
